Introducing Limited Edition Essential Oil Blends at Stillpoint Aromatics
One of the most fun things about essential oils is blending. Whether you begin blending for a therapeutic, energetic or emotional purpose, we all love to mix and combine oils to create a blend with a wonderful aroma. We have created some amazing blends that we are now offering as our Limited Edition Blends.
When we create our Limited Edition Blends, we always begin by thinking about the time of the year. Blending is kind of like cooking. There are certain foods and recipes that we make only at certain times of the year–soup is enjoyed when the weather turns cold, and we enjoy ice cold drinks in the summer when the weather is warm. The same is true of essential oils. Certain essential oils evoke feelings of the seasons. Spruces, Pines, and Firs remind us of holiday trees, and spice essential oils like Nutmeg, Clove and Cinnamon remind us of autumn and holiday baking. We tend to use cooling essential oils like Lemongrass and Peppermint when we blend in the summer.
Because our sense of smell has a direct and immediate effect on our brain and emotions, we know that the essential oils we choose for our Limited Edition Blends need to be timely and appropriate. Sometimes, they relate to either an equinox or solstice. Our Limited Edition Blends always will have a spiritual and energetic purpose, besides having an amazing aroma. This lends to their special and unique purpose.
Sometimes our Limited Edition Blends are what we call “stock blends.” Sometimes they are referred to as a “synergy.” Stock blends are created using essential oils only, and without a carrier oil. We use a few drops of our stock blends in a diffuser. You can also add a few drops of a stock blend to your favorite carrier, such as jojoba or unscented lotion. Several drops of a stock blend can also be added to a personal inhaler or “aromastick” to carry with you in your purse or pocket.
We have also made some of our Limited Edition Blends in a base or carrier. We like to use jojoba since it is a wax and will not turn rancid, like other carrier oils. Jojoba has a very long shelf life and it also has a smooth, velvety texture that creates a lovely base that you can put into a roller ball and use as a perfume.
Our Limited Edition Blends are unique to Stillpoint. As many of you already know, everything we do is done in a sacred manner and we feel that our Limited Edition Blends are sacred as well. We have a lot of fun creating them with the intention that they convey depth of meaning and hope that you really feel the sacredness with each and every one!
